Rebekah Start is a visual storyteller and kidlit artist who works in cut paper and mixed media. She hand paints the paper used in her illustrations and modifies her art digitally. She loves exploration, adventure and play. And especially making messes in her art studio while her cats silently judge her. Rebekah balances her studio time with working in the wild as a teaching artist. She has taught creatives from as young as 3, to teens & adults and loves working with all ages.
She earned her BFA in Illustration & Minor in Creative Writing from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. And graduated with High Honors. She currently lives in Michigan with 1 spouse, 2 kids & 6 pets but always has room for more!
